We are a family-owned and operated, proudly serving Livingston County since 2008.  As a breeder and exhibitor of various animals; I have passed my love of animals on to my children through 4H and various networks.  Working 25+ years in the retail pet industry has given me a wealth of knowledge and advantages that I would like to pass on to my customers. Helping them understand that by proper pet nutrition and healthy all-natural alternatives our pets, which are like family members, can live longer, healthier lifestyles and spend less time at the vet, with a better quality of life.

Meet Our Team

MALISSA

Manager Receptionist
As one of the faces of Pet Xtras, I would like to introduce you to our Manager, Malissa. She has been with the Pet Xtras family for over 3 years. She lives in Pinckney with her 4 Dachshunds, 1 Hound, 2 cats, and a bunny. She has raised and shown Dachshunds for 17 years. Her passion drew her to our salon, where she can interact with owners and their pets on a daily basis. As a part of our family, she can't imagine working without animals. Some days, Missy and/or Fancy will join Malissa at work. Feel free to stop in and say Hello to them!

AMBER

Receptionist
This is Amber! Another one of the faces of Pet Xtras. Ladies and Gentlemen, we got lucky with this girl! Her love and passion for your four-legged children can set any pet and owner at ease. She has her own child, Maggie and some days, we're blessed with Maggie's company. Feel free to stop in and say Hello to Amber and Maggie!

KIM

Dog Trainer

Kim is our resident dog trainer! Not only is she a fantastic trainer, but Kim is also certified in dog grooming, pet first aid, and pet CPR. Kim is a member of UKC Agility, C-Wags & APDT Rally Obedience, AKC, CPE Agility, USDAA Agility, & more!

COURTNEY

Groomer
Courtney entered the pet grooming profession as a receptionist and bather at Pet Xtras before becoming a Certified Groomer. She attended Paragon School of Pet Grooming in 2017. She has always had a passion for pets and now she gets to work with them everyday. She owns two dogs named Charlie and Kali.

Kendra

Groomer
Kendra is a 2nd generation groomer . She has been grooming 24 plus years. Her passion is making dogs look and feel beautiful.

Melissa

Groomer
Melissa graduated from Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology in May of 2019. She owns Charlie a doodle seen in the photo.

Nicole

Groomer
Nicole graduated from Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology. She has been a receptionist and bather for Per Xtras. After bathing for a little while she decided to attend grooming school and now has a love for grooming.

Drew

Groomer
Drew started with is back in 2014 as a receptionist and quickly learned how much she loved the dog grooming profession. After working as a receptionist for a year, she started bathing for our other groomers. In 2016 she attended Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology to finally become a certified dog groomer. Drew has always had a passion for animals and shows it through her work every day. She plans to open her own dog grooming and kennel business in the future.

Lynn

Groomer

Lynne has been grooming since 1988. She grooms both Cats and Dogs, does haircuts to your specifications, breed cuts, hand scissoring, and bath, brushouts, nail trims.
